2015–present[edit]

On September 5, 2015, dvsn released two songs titled 'The Line' and 'With Me'. They initially started gaining recognition when 'With Me' was played on Apple's Beats 1 radio during the seventh OVO Sound radio show.^[2] On December 2, 2015, they released their third song, titled 'Too Deep' on SoundCloud and the iTunes Store.^[3] On March, 2016, they released their fourth song, titled 'Hallucinations' on SoundCloud and the iTunes Store.^[4] On February 29, 2016, it was announced that dvsn had signed to Drake's OVO Sound record label.^[5]

On March 11, 2016, dvsn announced the release date of their debut studio album, titled Sept. 5th, along with the album being made available for pre-order on the iTunes Store.^[6] They released the album exclusively on the iTunes Store and Apple Music on March 27, 2016,^[7] with the album releasing elsewhere on April 1, 2016.

dvsn made a guest appearance on Drake's fourth studio album, Views on the track titled 'Faithful'.^[8]

On May 5, 2017, dvsn released 'Think About Me' as the lead single from their second album. A month later, 'Don't Choose' was released as the second single. On August 9, 2017, dvsn announced that Morning After would be the title of their next album. A new single, titled 'Mood' was released on September 4, 2017. The next day, dvsn revealed that the album will be released October 13, 2017. Morning After was made available for preorder on September 22, 2017.

On April 12, 2019 (Weekend 1) DVSN made their first appearance at Coachella. Back in August, Canadian duo Daniel Daley and Nineteen85, better known as dvsn, announced the title to their sophomore album Morning After, which came via a feature film-esque movie poster, and read “coming soon.” Since then, the duo dropped of the single “Mood” back in September and later revealed the release date of October 13, which thankfully is now upon us.

Laced with 13 tracks in total, the follow up to last year’s debut album Sept. 5th features vocals from singer Daniel Daley, while production is handled entirely by OVO producer & fellow dvsn member Nineteen85. It’s currently led by singles “Mood,” “Don’t Choose,” & “P.O.V.” to name a few.

“On our last album, Sept. 5th, we gave you a tiny glimpse into our world, but that was much darker. It was literally a door that looked like: “enter at your own risk.” This time around, our world has gotten a little bigger, brighter, but the element of dangerous still exists.” DVSN said.

While it’s not necessarily described as a visual album, dvsn did say the album will “definitely feel like you’ve just watched a movie with your ears.” The OVO duo also said that they knew the art direction before the album was completed, which allowed them to tailor the music to complement the visuals, which are being inspired by foreign films.

“The idea behind most of the visuals on this album came from watching foreign films. In North America, we’re exposed to so many big-budget film and TV productions that we can really appreciate the raw aspect of so many films from around the world. To be specific, Asian, European, and Latin film all had three key things that stood out to us, that made them feel different from North American movies and TV: subtitles, color, and location.
